What boredom teaches children
“I’m bored.” It’s a phrase that often prompts adults into action. We suggest a game, organise an activity or try to fill the silence before it has a chance to settle. Children, however, don’t always experience boredom in the same way. At Rain Trees International Kindergarten in Holland Village, we’ve often watched a child wander into the garden announcing there’s “I don’t know what to do”, only to become completely absorbed a few minutes later.
